The GLOBAL HEALTH SEMESTER is a partnership program between WESTMONT COLLEGE and the UGANDA STUDIES PROGRAM at Uganda Christian University

As a Westmont student you are already accepted into the USP because you are part of the Global Health Semester and have been approved by Dr. Cynthia Toms! But it’s important that we have your information in our system so that we can get you started on the pre-departure process.

We ask that you please complete sections 1, 2, and 4 from the USP application. These sections are highlighted in red below:
  1. Personal Information
  2. Code of Conduct
  3. References (not needed - where it asks for references just write “Westmont” in the blank space.)
  4. Essay Questions (these questions will be revisited during the semester as prompts for times of reflection and growth – so it’s useful for you to briefly answer these.)
  5. Transcripts (not needed)
Once we have received your application, you will be automatically accepted within a day or two and get access to our pre-departure platform. There you can submit your housing choice (homestay or on campus), read the USP handbook (called the Basic Information Guide), begin the practicum placement and visa processes, and prepare for your semester in Uganda.

Lisa Tokpa, USP’s Director of Field Education, is available as an additional point of contact for you throughout the rest of the pre-departure process. If any questions arise, please don’t hesitate to email her through the application messenger system or at usp@ugandastudiesprogram.org
